About us

The  BarelyFriendly Vision

Barely Friendly Designs was created from a simple idea: make apparel that says what people are thinking without crossing the line. We wanted to build a brand centered around humor, sarcasm, and personality by creating t-shirts that are slightly offensive, a little edgy, and guaranteed to spark a reaction, while still being fun and wearable for everyday life. Rather than relying on shock value or over-the-top designs, Barely Friendly Designs focuses on clever graphics and relatable attitudes that let people express themselves with confidence, humor, and just the right amount of attitude.

The Idea Behind Pr!ck

Pr!ck the Porcupine became the mascot of Barely Friendly Designs because he perfectly represents the brand's personality—sharp, sarcastic, and just a little rough around the edges. Our little "bundle of joy" was born from a simple play on words: as a porcupine, he's literally covered in pricks, while his name also nods to the more colorful slang meaning of the word. The combination was too fitting to ignore. While Pr!ck may look cute and approachable at first glance, he embodies the same spirit behind our designs: a sense of humor that is slightly offensive, unapologetically honest, and never quite as friendly as it first appears.

The BarelyFriendly Team

James

The Assistant

The owner of Barely Friendly Designs. I handle the printing, designing, customer service, and everything that keeps the business moving. Officially, though, I answer to Pr!ck the Porcupine. He makes the rules, sets the standards, and reminds me daily that "good enough" isn't good enough. I just do my best to keep him happy.

Pr!ck

The Boss

I'm Pr!ck—the founder, CEO, HR department, quality control, and the reason James drinks so much coffee. Around here, my standards are high, my patience is low, and excuses aren't accepted. If it isn't something I'd proudly slap my name on, it doesn't leave the shop.

James likes to tell people he owns Barely Friendly Designs. That's adorable. I let him handle the printing, customer service, and heavy lifting while I supervise from a safe distance and point out everything he missed. It's a tough job being right all the time, but somebody has to do it.
